2010 Music Demo

01 - The Long Road Home - 6:49 - This track was created as a purely musical ballad. Made with a nine piece orchestra, two choirs, and an orchestra percussion section. The aim was to create an emotional journey with this track. Taking the listener through a stage of contemplation, leading on to a sense of joy, followed by an atmosphere of being lost and in peril. Finishing on a tone of glorious triumph.

02 - River Journey - 4:04 - A relatively simple mix, a seven piece orchestra combined with a series of synthesisers to create a calm and moving piece of music. This track began as backing music intended for a singer. But in the end it was decided that it was good enough to stand up on its own. And eventually ended up being featured on a album of local artists.

03 - Goodbye - 4:39 - The aim for this piece was to achieve a sense of lose and sorrow, without having it turn into a long, dark, dirge of a track. Made with an eight piece orchestra, a guitar section, orchestra percussion section, and a modern percussion set. The original version of this piece was created as a backing track for a vocalist (hence the simple structure), but eventually evolved into a track of its own.

04 - Never Forgiven, Never Forgotten - 7:09 - This track is one in a series of similar pieces created in the last year. This track was made using a six piece orchestra, orchestra percussion section, rock style drum kit, two electric guitars and an electric bass guitar. Admittedly this was partially inspired by the work of Frank Klepacki along with the rest of the music team for “Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3”.
