Andy Brady

 Audio Engineer

Short Biography

“For me, music is emotion. And emotion is what drives us in life. Without our emotions, the good and the bad, life would be pretty dull, arguable meaningless. Which is why I find music, and sound in general so fascinating. The ability to create emotions within people through a single sound effect, or series of notes, I find to be truly profound.”
- Andy Brady

Andy Brady took his first steps in music through DJing. Starting off with just a couple of second hand belt drive turntables and a broken two channel mixer. He soon discovered a passion for all things audio. Through developing his skills as a scratch DJ, he found himself in need of more material to work with. This lead to his first efforts in digital music recording and production.

As his interest and equipment list grew he enrolled at an audio engineering college in Glasgow, Scotland. After finishing his course and obtaining a number of qualifications he began working as a freelance stage engineer. Working with local bands and music groups he built up a small client base. Later he moved onto studio recording and music production, working with more local talent: singers, musicians and producers. He recorded and helped to produce many works from his personal studio. To date his music has been used in websites, web adverts, local dance shows, charity music albums and various other projects with local events and organisations.

More recently he has moved into the field of music and sound design, and Foley work for visual projects. Working with a number of web based clients, his projects have been used in websites, web adverts and design proposals. As well as undertaking a number of personal Foley projects to showcase sounds and techniques that weren’t used in commissioned work.

He is now aiming for a permanent position within a motivated and creative company doing audio for films and TV, or audio for the gaming industry.
